  • Danete O'Neal - Accompanist

Danete O'Neal has been accompanist for The Boeing Employees Choir since 1992.

She has traveled with the choir on several international tours and is featured on our recordings.

A highly regarded pianist who accompanies vocalists, instrumentalists and choirs extensively throughout the Puget Sound region, she is also currently the accompanist and organist at Normandy Park Congregational Church in Des Moines.

A native of Washington, Danete began playing the piano at age five. She was graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Piano Performance. At the University, she studied piano with Ford Hill and vocal and instrumental instruction with Dr. Robert Scandrett and Dr. Mary Terry Smith. She also served as organist, accompanist, and bell choir director for the First Presbyterian Church in Bellingham, and was guest pianist and accompanist for the New Whatcom Choral Society.

In the past several years, her accompanist credits have ranged far and wide. They include accompanying the Gilbert & Sullivan Society in Thurston County, serving as guest pianist/accompanist for the Samish Music Festival, frequently accompanying soloists and instrumentalists for Music Educators National Conferences, and as guest soloist and accompanist for several chapters of the Washington State Music Teachers Association. She is also a private piano instructor.

Since 1989, Danete has been employed at The Boeing Company where she is an engineering analyst. When not at the keyboard, she enjoys traveling, gardening, outdoor adventures, and spending time with her family.
