We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

Some people in the wings do more than their share to make this organization "sing" on a logistical level, and this annual program is our formal acknowledgment of their efforts.

    The recipients are:

Joanne King has become the star of our CD sales team. She started out helping from time to time in the back of the room, but evolved into our primary sales person. People should realize, when we might collect $200 for a concert, she's in the back of the room selling $240 worth of music, so you can see where the profit it. She knows our product and which CD to gently suggest if shoppers are hesitant. It goes without saying that she is precise and thorough with the bookkeeping part. The bottom line is, we don't worry about CD sales if Joanne's there. She'll even scrounge up the table for us.

Sondra Woolett who's continuing contributions as our "costume guru" is vital to our success. She keeps fabric inventory and maintains a scarf collection and a supply of healthy earrings for emergencies. Sondra is board secretary and few of us are aware of the extra services she provides when it's time to send out our promotion publicity. She keeps the mailing list and does folding, labeling and stamping our publicity mailers.

Ron Dorband, vice president of marketing, gets special thanks for continuing to serve us as our venue planner. We know that the VP's job is probably the board's most demanding post and we can't thank him enough for his support. We are also the beneficiaries of his technological expertise. He records our concerts, takes our formal portraits and designs and produces our programs. And his efforts brought us a new dimension to our singing experience this holiday season as we performed with the Black Nativity.

John Purvis, vice president, logistics, is everywhere and we can count on him to step up to whatever he perceives is our need of the moment. He helps with the epaginator's duties and provides our venue maps. This year he moved the trailer to Nancy's and commandeered a room in her basement for the keyboard and speakers, and extra risers, and our CD inventory. He keeps track of CD sales, and serves as Ron Dorband's backup on the marketing side. He's the riser guy, always the first person at the venue to meet our hosts and the last person out the door when the singing is over.

Nancy Wright has been dedicated to the choir's public image efforts for more than a decade. She's responsible for the mailings to choir friends, providing the write ups, words for our brochures and posters and concert programs, developing and distributing the handouts for our publicity packets, helping the board with strategy issues and attempting to make inroads with Boeing management to publicize our activities and auditions. This summer she and John Purvis devoted significant energy to the development and implementation of a recruitment program. And, as always, she coordinates the annual recognition ceremony.

Dean Renick is our faithful enpaginator expeditor. John Purvis likes the way Dean is so flexible and easy to work with in deciding who will turn pages, where, including during rehearsals. We appreciate Dean's faithful efforts, and we know that Danete does too.

Amy Hughes, our librarian, does more than order and keep track of our music, a huge task. She is first to see opportunities to be thoughtful, a self starter who can't be beat in organizing and developing plans.
